Sue Anne Hodges has been a professional photographer for 25 years.
“I have been inspired by Mount Desert Island since I was a student in photography school. In the years since, I worked as a studio photographer in the field of advertising and I have become a part time resident of MDI. Photographing the island which had started as a personal project has grown to become an important part of my professional work.”
Sue Anne’s images have been featured in Down East Magazine, DeLorme publications, The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce Guide Books, and more. From a morning walk on Main Street to an afternoon at the waters edge, she has built a library of images capturing the places and the essence of the island.
“I enjoy sharing my love for the island through my images. I maintain up to date image files and am able to provide knowledgeable information about the island for clients working on projects in need of images.”
Sue Anne’s work is also exhibited widely. Two of her images were included in the Bangor Symphony’s 2003 “Pictures at an Exhibition” and many are in private collections. She splits her time between Maine and Massachusetts where she shares her passion for photography with her students at New England School of Photography.
Sue Anne is a resident of Seal Harbor, Maine and West Newbury, MA and enjoys photographing and experiencing the coast of Maine in her travels. She is represented by Redfield’s Gallery in Northeast Harbor, Maine.
